Thursday, April 16, 2026 (2:00 PM - 3:00 PM) (EDT)
Description
Presenter: Melina Piñeyro, MPH
Senior Manager of Health Programs at the National Alliance for Caregiving
Family caregivers are essential for transplant care, yet they are rarely supported as part
of the system surrounding it. In this webinar, Melina Pineyro, Senior Manager of Health
Programs at the National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC), will combine national research
from NAC’s Transplant Caregiving Collaborative with her own lived experience to help
lodging leaders gain a deeper understanding of the challenges transplant caregivers
face.
Drawing from NAC’s research, the session will explore:
ï‚· The critical role caregivers play before, during, and after transplant along with the
common stressors they experience
ï‚· Existing gaps in support that exist within and beyond the healthcare system
This webinar is ideal for lodging leaders who want to better understand caregiver needs
and reflect on how their programs intersect with the transplant caregiving journey.
