Joan Martin was there at the beginning. In 1984, she helped establish the Hospital Hospitality House of Saginaw, one of the earliest healthcare hospitality houses in the country. A year later, she played a central role in founding what is now Healthcare Hospitality Network, helping to build a national community where none had existed before.

During National Healthcare Hospitality Week 2026, Joan joins HHN for a conversation about how it all started, what she's seen change over four decades, and what she hopes for the future of healthcare hospitality.
