In this presentation, you will gain a better understanding of the what and the why of diversity, equity and inclusion work in healthcare and in healthcare hospitality specifically. You will be able to describe and explain core DEI concepts that play a role in organizational culture and identify barriers to a positive DEI climate. Finally, you will explore critical steps in enhancing and ensuring an inclusive climate of belonging in healthcare hospitality.
Meet our Expert: Amy L. Delaney, PhD
Amy Delaney earned a PhD in communication from the University of Illinois in 2016, and currently serves as the Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Carle Health system. Amy leads collaborative work with clinical and non-clinical teams to fulfill the Carle Health commitment to being an equitable and inclusive health system for team members, patients and health plan members. Before joining Carle Health, Amy was a college professor of Health Communication at Millikin University, teaching and conducting academic research on communication around health topics such as depression, maternal health, and chronic illness.
