Presenter: Kimberly Lennon WeinerChief Impact Officer at the Ulman Foundation
Adolescents and young adults (AYA) with cancer face a distinct set of medical, emotional, and social challenges that differ meaningfully from pediatric or older adult patients. This session explores how developmental stage, identity formation, fertility concerns, peer connection, and prolonged treatment shape the care experience. Drawing on Ulman Foundation’s work, the conversation will highlight how housing, communal living, and healthcare hospitality environments can better support AYAs in feeling safe, connected, and respected while receiving care.
